In 2016, a new kind of space shuttle will rise to the skies atop an Atlas V rocket. Developed by a private company—the Sierra Nevada Corporation—it would be able to ferry seven astronauts to orbit and back. Dear Lifehacker,
I’ve always wondered why Blu-rays have regions, or why a music service is available in one country but not another. The Internet is global, right? And why are videos that stream in one country blocked in another? Is there any rhyme or reason, or is it all just to be annoying?

This is pretty amazing and all but I sure hope this leads us to better treatments for memory loss.

As awesome as it was to see a ship intentionally run aground, I can't imagine all that crap flowing back into the sea is environmentally friendly.

When a ship comes to the end of its working life, it has to be torn apart, piece-by-piece, to be disposed of. By that point, though, little care needs to be taken in getting it ashore–so they’re just intentionally run aground. This is what it looks like.
