NASA Chief Scientist Predicts We’ll Find Signs Of Alien Life By 2025

Here’s the full quote, as delivered by NASA Chief scientist Ellen Stofan at Tuesday’s panel discussion on the Agency’s search for habitable worlds and alien life: “I think we’re going to have strong indications of life beyond Earth within a decade, and I think we’re going to have definitive evidence within 20 to 30 years.”

Why You Should Care About VP9, Google’s Clever Video Codec

As the ongoing Meerkatification of humanity proves, the internet (in one form or another) is becoming more and more about video. An Alien Radio Beacon? Probably Not This Time.

For nearly a decade, astronomers have puzzled over powerful bursts of radio energy that seem to be hailing from billions of light years away. Recently, we received reports of a new wrinkle to this mystery: The bursts appear to follow a mathematical pattern, one that doesn’t line up with anything we know about cosmic physics.

‘The Waking Dead’ Finale Fetches Nearly 16 Million Viewers

This should come as absolutely no surprise, but quite a lot of people tuned into The Walking Dead finale on Sunday night.
